The Oscar's are one of the most important nights in fashion. Designers work tirelessly to coordinate with celebrity stylists to ensure that their visions come to life exactly how they anticipated. To be given the opportunity to dress an Oscar nominee is every designer's dream. These gowns are never forgotten and last night proved to be one for the fashion history books.

High necklines and metallic embroidered gowns seemed to be the overwhelming trend last night. Emma Stone, stunned in a gold Givenchy gown that was truly made for an Oscar winner. The dress was detailed with Swarovski crystals that was said the be the last dress designed by Riccardo Tisci before his exit from Givenchy.

Jessica Biel also donned a gold sequined gown that made her statuesque figure stand out on the red carpet. She accessorized the high neck gown with a Tiffany feathered necklace and a gold clutch. Her husband, Justin Timberlake, opened the Oscars with a performance almost as memorable as this look.

From left to right, Ruth Negga, Viola Davis, and Ginnifer Goodwin, all embraced the fire truck red and high neck gowns. All three women slayed the red carpet from their gowns to accessories to hair and makeup. These looks embody what an Oscar's red carpet look should be and these women look absolutely stunning. The red and high neckline look is my favorite trend from the night.

Best Dressed

Supermodel Karlie Kloss embraced the high neck trend as well in a Stella McCartney gown and a Nirav Modi choker and rings. Karlie glowed in this beautiful, elegant gown with simple makeup that screamed supermodel. The beautiful choker paired with the chic white was one of my favorite looks of the night.

Actress Isabelle Huppert defined French elegance on the red carpet in her Armani Prive gown that was embroidered with thousands of Swarovski crystals. The Oscar nominated actress completed the look with a Repossi ear cuff and rings. The pale pink gown contrasted with a dark lip color allowed for Huppert to be a red carpet star last night.

Actress Taraji P. Henson had a truly iconic red carpet moment in her custom Alberta Ferretti gown. Her blue velvet gown was perfection on her. The neckline and slit in the gown accentuated her figure in all of the right places. Taraji looked absolutely stunning from head to toe in one of the most memorable looks of the night.
