I traveled to Spain last week, excited for a little escape from the Italian cold weather into some Spanish heat but, boy, was I mistaken. It was a very cold week in Granada, but even a random snowstorm didn't stop us from having a great time. Luckily, the sun was shining most of the time which boosts my mood regardless of the temperatures!
Granada was very different, architecturally, from almost all of the cities I have visited so far. You can see the inspiration from Africa in the buildings and I loved that. Visiting the Alhambra was also very cool. I really enjoyed seeing the mixture of Catholic art and architecture mixed with the original Muslim architecture of the palace. In 1492, Queen Isabella and King Ferdinand made it their new royal palace and it was here they gave Christopher Columbus the money and permission to sail to America. Talk about some awesome history!
It's so fun to explore and gather inspiration from all of these new cities. I can hardly contain my excitement for my trips to come :)
